Walk it.  Bike it. Hanglide it.

On any day, you can show up in Sonoma County, and with no advance reservation, take a self-guided tour at any of nine wineries. Sonoma County Vineyard Adventures has created walking routes with signs that will educate you on the nuances and timing of making great wine, and the diversity of the wine produced here.

Sonoma County has 350 wineries in 13 designated wine regions; the nine winemakers on the tour range from the Schug Carneros Estate Winery to the Francis Ford Coppola Winery in the Alexander Valley, which Francis himself described as a "wine wonderland, a park of pleasure where people of all ages can enjoy all the best things in life – food, wine, music..."

The tours are less than a mile, free, and best of all, end with tastings.
